Castle Stuart Golf Links Overview

Imagine teeing off on a dramatic clifftop, the North Sea roaring beside you, and the Scottish Highlands stretching out like a velvet tapestry.  This links course is so breathtaking, it’s been called “the Pebble Beach of Europe.”

Every one of the holes at Castle Stuart is a postcard. Lush fairways snake along ancient dunes, guarded by craggy cliffs and crumbling castles. Castle Stuart is more than just a challenge. It’s a pilgrimage. You’re following in the footsteps of legends like Tom Watson and Colin Montgomerie, who’ve walked these hallowed fairways and battled the elements. You’re part of the club’s rich history, a legacy etched in every bunker and every gorse bush.

Cabot, the ownership group of Castle Stuart Golf Links, is pouring significant investment into the entire property, now known as Cabot Highlands.  While Castle Stuart Golf Links will remain unchanged, the property will expand with the building of a second golf course designed by acclaimed architect Tom Doak, scheduled to open in 2025.

Black Sheep Review

The beauty of Castle Stuart astounds me every time i play it!  It begins on the very first hole as you tee off along the North Sea.  Wind plays a major factor on your ability to score on this course as is true with any of the links courses in Scotland.  The holes along the sea to be particularly intimidating with water on one side and cliffs on the other.

Castle Stuart is a must play on any Highland tour and is included in our Ultimate Highlands and East Cost Golf Extravaganza tours.
