Carne Overview

Carne was the last course designed by the legendary Eddie Hackett and many say he saved his best work until last. The course routing is being hailed by golf commentators as the finest example of natural links golf in the world. Rated at number 12 in Ireland, it is arguably the most spectacular links course in Ireland, raw and untamed, with increased drama as the holes weave their way through the awe-inspiring corners of the dune system.

Tom Coyne sums it up in his famous book, A Course Called Ireland. “In any string of words I might pen over the rest of my life, I might never write a more true sentence than this: Carne is absolutely brilliant. Front nine, back nine, every hole, every hill, every inch of the place is simply special.”
