Course Overview

Murcar Links

Once called “as fine a links course as you could wish to play” by Paul Lawrie, 1999 Open Champion, Murcar sits alongside its royal neighbor (Royal Aberdeen) on the south side of Aberdeen. The course, originally designed by Archie Simpson and revised by James Braid, is located on a classic stretch of links land with massive sand dunes, undulating fairways, and is covered in whins and heather with some magnificent views across the North Sea.

Not for the beginner or the faint hearted, Murcar Links is a par 71 natural Championship links, which represents a truly challenging test of golf. To play it requires every shot in the book and if the wind is up, a few more besides! Murcar is a European Tour venue and will play host to the 2021 Scottish Men’s Amateur Championship.
