Overview
While the lure of the links may draw you to Scotland, it’s the magic beyond the greens that truly ignites the soul. Our Couples Classic tour achieves that in spades as it meanders through the breathtaking Highlands, down to parkland paradise of the famed Gleneagles and finally, to the Ayrshire Coast where you’ll be mesmerized by the beauty of its windswept cliffs. This is also one of our most flexible tours, giving you a blank canvas to add your own brushstrokes of golf, adventure, or simply time snuggled by the fire. Our couples golf packages are a great way for you and your partner to spend some quality time together in the sight of some of the world’s most beautiful scenery. Whether you’re the competitive types or are looking for a one-of-a-kind getaway to celebrate a major milestone, our couples’ golf trips are just the thing to strengthen your relationship and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Your luxury couples’ golf package adventure begins in Inverness, the Highlands’ vibrant heart, and descends to Gleneagles, “the Riviera of the North,” where manicured greens bask in sun-dappled splendor. Then, onto Turnberry’s reborn elegance, its renovated haven beckoning with whispers of golfing legends before concluding the tour in Glasgow. At each stop, five-star accommodations await, cradling you in world-class spas and culinary feats. Savor Andrew Fairlie’s two-Michelin masterpieces at Gleneagles, or lose yourself in the symphony of flavors at each exquisite setting. And of course there’s enough golf as your body will endure covering both links and parkland styles, gems and classics.
While your private coach drive through the Highlands is spectacular, especially as you pass through Cairngorms National Park on the way to Gleneagles, consider ditching the asphalt and embracing the wind on a private helicopter. Image soaring over Scotland’s majestic landscape before descending onto the manicured lawns of Gleneagles or Turnberry!
Because this tour takes you into three of Scotland’s most prized areas, there are countless opportunities to extend this adventure to truly soak up the spirit of Scotland. Whether it’s an extra round on a championship course, a thrilling climb up one of Scotland’s famed Munros or the quiet contemplation of a fly-fishing expedition, let us tailor this journey to your heart’s desires. This is your story, waiting to be written.

Day 2: Golf a Rising Star and Explore Historic Inverness
After breakfast you’ll tackle the “modern” Cabot Highlands (previously known as Castle Stuart), which has quickly become recognized as one of the best links courses in Scotland and ranks 60th on Golf Digest’s list of best courses in the world. Cabot Highlands has been impressing golfers since 1883, and features alterations made by James Braid. Of note is the 14th hole, which is characterized by a dogleg to the right and a cluster of tall trees that hides the green from view until you make the turn. At the end of your day will be the 475-yard 18th, with northeasterly winds making for exceptionally challenging conditions. It’s a fantastic introduction to golfing in Scotland, full of rich history and demanding play for even the most experienced duffer.
If that’s not enough for you, you also have the option to play a round at Nairn Golf Club along the Moray Firth coastline. Founded in 1887, the course is another enhanced by James Braid. Blessed with views of the sea from every hole, you’ll have to take special care not to let the setting distract you so much your shots end up on the beach.
After lunch there’s plenty of time to explore Inverness. If you haven’t had enough golf for the day, you might decide to head across town over to a course touched by two of the legends, Old Tom Morris and James Braid. Nairn Golf Club’s Championship Course is an amazing seaside course with views of the Moray Firth from almost every hole.
Back to the Ness Walk Hotel for a quick rest before heading out on the town. The very popular Rocpool might be a great choice for this evening.

Day 3: Inland you go for a Highland’s Hidden Gem
Today you continue your journey south into the breathtaking Cairngorms National Park to play a round at a Braid hidden gem, Boat of Garten. “The Boat” is set alongside the River Spey in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Here you will navigate through this Braid design featuring 18 completely individual holes, cleverly and sensitively shaped fairways lined by birch trees, heather and broom. This inland course is a great change of pace from the traditional links courses, designed with a real sense of fun and challenge that will keep you on your toes. It makes up for being relatively short by adding a lot of up-and-down motion to the fairways, with plenty of hills and valleys to keep things interesting. Those who take the game too seriously might dismiss the course as a novelty, but the playfulness and unpredictable nature of the design make it a true delight for those who value the experience as much as the final score.
After golf you’ll continue your journey south to Gleneagles. This luxury hotel, spa and golfing destination in the heart of the Scottish countryside, aptly named “The Glorious Playground”, will be your home for the next two nights. One peek at the endless list of country pursuits will ignite your adventurous spirit, but tonight, before adventure beckons in the morning, indulge in the symphony of flavors awaiting you at Gleneagles’ many enticing restaurants.

Day 4: Golf/Massage/Michelin…is this a Dream?
Begin this memorable day with a choice from one of Gleneagles three championship golf courses. The King’s Course, a Braid-designed masterpiece and ‘inland links’ classic; The Queen’s Course, one of the finest par-68 heathland golf courses in the UK; or the contemporary Nicklaus-designed PGA Centenary Course. Each of these three courses offer a world-class golfing experience to a broad spectrum of enthusiasts, from novices through to the finest players in the world.
The King’s Course nestles into the natural surroundings seamlessly, providing you with a unique experience from start to finish. In the case of the Queen’s Course, a recent renovation has restored much of its original design after a number of changes were made in the 1980s to appeal to more-modern sensibilities. Most golfers who have played the course since its rebirth have voiced their deep appreciation of the return to form. As for the PGA Centenary, this Jack Nicklaus design may not bring the history of the other two Gleneagles courses but makes up for it with a challenging layout.
It’s time to pamper yourself in the afternoon and there’s no better way to do so than with a massage in one of the finest spas in Scotland.
Tonight you must experience the very special culinary treat at the only 2 Michelin star restaurant in Scotland, Restaurant Andrew Fairlie. Expect an indulgent evening in a relaxed and comfortable environment where thoughtful and attentive service is only exceeded by the exquisite cuisine.

Day 5: The Ayrshire Coast Awaits
Today you bid farewell to one resort/spa only to welcome another, Trump Turnberry Golf Club, which sits on a beautiful peninsula of links land on the coast of South Ayrshire, with spectacular views across the Firth of Clyde to the islands of Arran and Ailsa Craig, the Mull of Kintyre and even to Ireland on a clear day.
The silhouette of the lighthouse and ruined castle that have become a symbol of Turnberry is steeped in history. The iconic lighthouse was built in 1873 by Thomas and David Stevenson, the father and uncle of the famous writer, Robert Louis Stevenson, on a site amidst the ruined walls of Turnberry castle where legend has it that Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland, was born in 1274.
On your way to Turnberry, however, there’s time to get some golf in, and a great place to do so is Western Gailes, a traditional, attractive and testing Scottish links course as you could wish to find. It’s also perfectly situated to break up the drive. A relatively short course with a lot of variety built into it, Western Gailes will have you contending with changing wind directions, frequent water hazards and challenging rough. It’s certainly a course that you’ll need to approach with care and strategy if you want to do well, but even if you don’t at least you’ll be in some fantastic surroundings during your time on the links.

Day 6: Dream day, take 2 (or 3? or 4?)...
If you’re dreaming of another day like you had at Gleneagles, dream no more! This time, your dream will include playing an Open Championship course with a breathtaking view of the Firth of Clyde!
After breakfast, it’s time to challenge the Turnberry Ailsa Course, designed by the legendary Charles Blair Macdonald and noted as a masterpiece of strategic bunkering, undulating greens, and breathtaking vistas. One of its best moments comes in the form of the 9th hole, which dares you to make some difficult shots over the rocks. The experience culminates in the revised 18th hole, where you’ll tee off in view of the sea and finish on a long green notorious for catching the uninitiated off-guard. This course is the site of the famous duel between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson in the 1977 Open Championship. Despite all the drama that this course has witnessed over the years, it’s still a great course for golfers of all skill levels and a perfect addition to your stay and play golf package.
After golf, it’s a great time for another massage in the Turnberry Spa. Dinner this evening is a special treat as you will have a bespoke private dining experience at The Chef’s Table, situated within the heart of Turnberry’s main kitchen. This private dining experience allows unrivaled access to a live, theatrical, culinary performance featuring Turnberry’s brigade of talented chefs.

Day 7: One final hurrah…
After breakfast, you’ll head back up to the town of Troon, which is perfectly situated just outside Glasgow for your departure flight in the morning.
Here you can choose from one of two Open Championship courses. Historic Prestwick site of the first Open Championship or Royal Troon, the site of the 2024 Open Championship, the tenth time it will have hosted this event. The bad news is there isn’t time to play both. The good news is that you can’t go wrong with either!
If you choose to conclude your couples’ golf package with Prestwick, you’ll be greeted with a variety of holes that present their own unique challenges. You’ll need confidence and faith to take on the many blind holes, and the enormous bunkers require you to play with care and skill. Right away, the first hole is a par four known as the Railway, so named for the tracks that run alongside the right-hand side and offer a unique hazard to avoid. The 17th hole, known as “Alps,” is one of the most notorious in the world, with massive hills that block your view of the green on the approach. Fortunately, the large bowl-shaped green may take pity on you and gently guide your shot into a reasonable putt. Of course, that’s only if you can manage to hit it.
If you decide you’d rather take on Royal Troon, you’ll be playing on the site of one of the most dramatic duels in recent history. This was the course where Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson battled it out during the 2016 Open Championship. Staying on the fairway is essential here, as the positioning of the bunkers and rough make it easy to fall victim.
This evening, you’ll settle in for your final evening at The Lochgreen House Hotel, a quiet hotel to truly fall in love with, with its charming original period features, sumptuous interiors and classic hospitality, not to mention panoramic views of Arron over Royal Troon. This hotel also features its Bisque Restaurant, a wonderful Parisian style brasserie.

Day 8: The Journey Ends but the Memories Begin!
On this final morning, your tour driver will make sure all departure schedules are met as you head to your next destination. While it’s always hard to leave such a magical place like the Scotland coast, the memories you’ll have from this amazing experience will last a lifetime!
